Our November Motorhome Trip

We had a nice long trip at Thanksgiving in the motorhome.
Sometimes the cat's get a little bored in there.

Mazi, I'm sooo bored, I have been laying around here all morning.

Yeah Simba, I know, I was up in the front window but it got too hot. What shoud we do?

Hey what are you two planning over there? I'm in a bad mood this morning so you guys better not be up to anything or else!

OK, sheesh, can't a guy have any fun around here. What a grouchy female.

No kidding, more hours of nothing ahead. She's killin me here. I'm a Savannah, full of energy, vim and vigor and all that stuff. I wanna run around and tear this place up. But noooooooooo, miss Kali will beat the snot out of me, so here I sit.

This is the most boring trip ever!

Wait a minute, I got an idea!

What Mazi? Do we dare? You always have such cool ideas, tell me what?

I'm not liking the sound of this boys.

It's time for some nip!
Catnip pillows that is.

Awww this stuff is the best!

Nooooo MAZI! No Catnip!

Simba, grab the other catnip pillow!

Mazi you are so smart, I love catnip!

Yep, I can really get into this stuff.

Its definately time for some nip!

Newspaper Tents

Cats just love newspapers. If they are not laying on them while we try to read them, they are under them playing in thier Kitty Tents!

Here is your basic Kitty Tent. Are there kitties in there?

Yes! Mr. Simba is peeking out.

And here is Mr. Mazi peeking out.

Sometimes the tent follows you when you get out.

Kali is taking her tent with her too.

Its also fun to lay on the papers, especially when it makes someone else get out.

Oh no, Kali has found Simba in a kitty tent.
She can't let him have any fun.

Get out of here Simba! Bengals only!

As you see, Simba did not give up, he is poking a leg out from under a kitty tent.
Today is a fun day for the kitties.

We got new collars

This month is Mazi and Kali's birthday - 3 years old and next month is Simba's homecoming anniversary of 1 year. We are celebrating with some new cat collars. They are soft and they stretch and have a velcro closure. They come in a bunch of patterns and are available at http://www.walkease.com/ just click on the link for Beastie Bands.

Mazi is happy to be the "Cool Cat"

Simba is confused and not sure why he got the "Smelly Cat" collar.

Kali is proud of being awarded the "Crazy Cat" collar. She is ready to go chase Simba, she hasn't picked on him yet this morning.

Our Visit to Cat Tales Zoological Park

Labor Day weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful little zoo of wild cats in Mead, Washington, just a few minutes north of Spokane. It is also a school for students majoring in zoology and they give tours of the site, so it is a great place to learn about the cats while you enjoy their beauty. My only regret is I did not have my good camera with me, so the photos are not the nice quality of my other photos posted here.

If you would like to visit their website where they have more photos and info about their organization it is:

http://www.cattales.org/

Here is a beautiful White Tiger. He has the loudest roar I have ever heard in my life. He also tried to spray the crowd near the fence.

There are several Leopards on site.

We found the Serval- of course!

The Serval came to them as a very small kitten and she lost her littermate. They got a shelter kitten and they have been raised together.
We saw the Serval licking the cat and we were amazed to see the same exact behavior that our Savannah, Simba does with our Bengal, Mazi. He licks the back of his neck over and over and then a good healthy bite, then he lick, lick, bites and lick, lick, bites!
Every time we see a Serval, we pick out more of the things that our Savannah does that he gets from his Serval instinct.

They had 4 Tiger cubs that are 9 months old in one caged area. There was one cub who seemed to be the most dominate, but they all wrestled and played. We could have watched them for hours.

If you would like to see all the photos we took, click on the thumbnail below. It will take you to my webshots album. Use the slideshow feature for the album since there are over 100 photos. I hope you enjoy.

The Cats are redecorating

Well after almost 3 years, the kitties have decided we need to change out some of the window coverings. They have been working on bending the valance rod for a while but now they have moved on to the upper window.

Here Mazi is showing you the preferred method of travel to the wonderful window.

Did I do that?

Oh! I didn't see a thing.

Let's see what I can do with this now.

See our complete window redecorating story in our slide show.
