The Furspawty Feb 4-5th 2012

If you have been reading our blog for a while, you have read about Fursbook. But if you are new here, Fursbook is a fun message board that allows animal profiles.......unlike some other big named social sites.

Fursbook is celebrating it's 1st Anniversary online and is going to celebrate with a pawty!

(What's a pawty? An online party with virtual food, dancing, lots of chat, dj's that will play music via blipfm or grooveshark- be sure to turn on your computer speakers. There are sometimes games and real prizes- which varies from pawty to pawty, and some pawties are fund raisers, typically for animal rescues.)

This is going to be a pawty that is held not only in the chat room on Fursbook, but on Twitter at the same time!

OMC! This has never been done before! This should be a ton of fun.

This is going to be a costume pawty. Whatever anipal you are, you can dress up in another anipal costume. So if you are a cat, put on a dog suit, or how about an insect, like an ant or a bee? How about a dog in  a horse costume? It's a dress in anipal drag pawty!!

I can't wait to see everyone's costumes!

Come celebrate with us and meet some new furends or reconnect with some old anipals you haven't chatted with for a while. Or stop by just to see everyone's costumes.  (On twitter the costumes are usually the avatar picture and some are also on twitpic.)

This furspawty is not a fund raising pawty, just a fun get together. There is a new Friends of Fursbook shop on Zazzle that is hopefully going to cover the hosting costs of Fursbook. This year the Fursbook members generously donated to keep it running for another year. But it is FREE to join Fursbook.

You can ask to join by clicking on the badge on the right of my blog with my pic that says "Iz a member of Fursbook". Once you are verified that you are an anipal, you will get access to Fursbook and have fun there anytime.

Well friends, a while back a wrote a review of animal friendly sites and my favorite site of choice is Fursbook. You can read the post here if you missed it: http://bengalcatdomination.blogspot.com/2011/08/are-you-social-animal.html

Sadly the hosting site has raised their price and Fursbook may have to be shut down. The admin is working hard to try to make a free site somewhere else but is having problems with it. Rather than having something completely different than the Fursbook we all know and love, the admin is working to try to make this new site have all the same features. But sadly it is not cooperating and in a few days, we may loose our Fursbook if we do not pay the fee for the year.

We were planning to have our first anniversary pawty for Fursbook, but Thanksgiving got in the way. Phhtt!

To top it off, it is the holiday season and so many of us are stretching our money for family this year.

But, if it is at all possible, please donate any small amount you can spare.

Mom made a small donation, she is not working now, so she could not donate as much as she wanted. But the dollars do add up. It is understandable that not everyone can help. But if you can, please do.
